This is a great book for making you think about your mindset. Often it’s our own thoughts that hold us back and this book helps you explore what thoughts may be affecting your chances of success. This is a really great book to inspire self reflection.

My rating ♥♥♥
This book will have you rethinking your 9 to 5 job. While I won’t be following all the advice outlined here and moving to a deserted island anytime soon, it did make me rethink that income can only be earned by working a certain number of hours per week.

By Sarah Knight

My rating ♥♥♥
Brought to you by the author of The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F*ck (also on this list), this book is both entertaining and insightful. As always I love the swearing, but I also enjoy the message of focusing on what is important to you, so you can achieve your own ambitions.

By Daniel Priestley

My rating ♥♥♥
As someone who has a fairly specialised job role, this book was really good for me I enjoyed the ideas of really focusing on key outcomes and areas of expertise. I think the book would work for both employees and the self employed and overall I found it to be quite motivating to follow the path I am on.

I flew through this book, I loved it so much. Not only did I love all the swearing (I listened to it in audio and really had to be careful during the morning dropoff of the tiny man!) I loved the message. This book makes you proud of who you are at what you want to do with your time. If you want to laugh and feel inspired then this is the book for you.
Rich Dad Poor Dad
By Robert Kiyosaki

Once you get past some of the classist undertones of this book the premise is a positive one. Not everyone makes money from their work hours and what looks like a satisfying middle-class life could actually be so much more… and it’s all just a few decisions away.

The Subtle Art of Not giving a F*ck

I have to admit that I love the reckless swearing in this book. It makes me feel like a rebel. The overall message of the book is positive, but I did find the writing to be a bit negative at times. If you are the type of person that lets the pressure of others or the pressures of the ‘shoulds’ get to you then this would be a good read for you. If you’re looking something to light your fire in an instant, I’d probably suggest looking at one of the other great titles here.
Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story
by Arnold Schwarzenegger

What a story! What a life! Arnold is the master of reinvention and lifelong learning. This book will make you question what you have been doing with yourself all these years. It certainly made me question where I was settling and where I needed to push myself.

Its time to think about your skills and whether they will stand the test of time. This book reviews the ages, from the industrial age to the age of abundance to the age of automation. Can your current job be automated in the future? If it’s a possibility then its time to have a read of this book and think about your future.

It’s worth getting to know what makes you productive and find out the best way to get the most out of your personal productivity style. Not a super inspiring read but I found it gave me some insights and tips on how to get the most out of my own preferences.
